From June 13–15, 2022, Facilitators for Change (FC) held its bi-annual meeting in Jimma Town. All project staff attended the meeting and each shared their good practices, lessons learned, challenges encountered and solutions used to address the challenges. Similarly, all the projects have developed a second-half bi-annual action plan to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of project implementations. In 2022, FC has also started using improved accounting software to enhance its financial management. In line with this, all the project’s adaptation levels to the improved accounting software were evaluated and directions were set for the way forwards. The team also visited and shared some experiences from Jimma Agricultural Research Center to look for new and improved technologies released by the Research Center. The Research Center showed its commitment to working with FC to address smallholder farmers through its enhanced technologies to improve the livelihood of farmers.

Awi Srasri-Building Better Future for Children 

Goal of the Project: The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the realization of child right at family, school, and community through empowering children, families, and communities. Project Objectives All children enjoyed their rights and feel protected from child rights violations in their community in the targeted districts of Ankesha guagusa and Guagusa shikudad districts. Project Sub-Objectives Children’s rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled at a family level. Targeted schools become safe and welcoming, participatory and inclusive for children.Communities and institutions contribute to the protection and healthy development of children and enforce child rights policies, Project Implementation Areas Ankasha Guagusa and Guagusa Shekudad Districts of Awi Zone, Amhara National Regional States of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (in a total of 6 kebeles) Project Targets The main target beneficiaries of the project are children, and to reach children the project also targets their parents and community members. Goal of the Project: To contribute to the national effort for the realization of “All children attend to quality education and are free from any form of child right violation”. FC response to Covid -19

Contribution of FC to prevent the spread of COVID-19
