Facilitator for Change Shares Its Agroecology Experience at the 3rd National Agroecology Conference

Addis Ababa, 5 November 2026 – Facilitator for Change (FC) is participating in the 3rd National Agroecology Conference, held at the Ministry of Agriculture in Addis Ababa, where it is showcasing its field experiences and promoting sustainable agroecological practices. The conference is organized by the Promoters of Agroecology, with financial and technical support from national and international partners.

During the conference, FC is sharing its practical experiences and contributions in several key areas of agroecology, including:

  • Soil Health, Fertility and Sustainable Inputs: Promoting community-based practices that improve soil health, restore soil fertility, and reduce dependence on external agricultural inputs.

  • Seed Diversity and Indigenous Seeds: Supporting the conservation and use of indigenous seed varieties to strengthen local food security, biodiversity, and farmers’ independence.

  • Traditional Foods and Food Culture: Promoting traditional food systems, local food diversity, and nutritious diets through the preservation and appreciation of indigenous food practices.

  • Climate Resilience: Advancing agroecological approaches that strengthen the capacity of farming communities to adapt to climate change and build resilient agricultural systems.

The conference brings together farmers, government representatives, civil society organizations, and development partners to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen collective efforts to advance agroecology in Ethiopia.

The program features keynote speeches, farmer-led panel discussions, a Traditional Food and Seed Exhibition, a recognition program, and the presentation of a position paper on agroecology.

Through its participation, Facilitator for Change reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture, protecting natural resources, strengthening community resilience, and supporting healthy and sustainable food systems.
