Project name: Building the Resilience of Enebsie Sarmider Communities against Weather Related Hazards

Activity Description:
The major project activities are
- Enhancing agricultural production and productivity through organizing farmers into Farmers Learning Groups (FLGs), promoting improved agricultural practices, supporting small scale irrigation practices, promoting improved livestock production and strengthening existing cooperatives
- Diversifying the livelihood and source of income for HHs and landless youth through organizing the women into saving and credit groups, supporting rural women to engage alternative income sources and creating alternative livelihoods for landless youth and farmers.
- Strengthening early warning systems and building the capacity of the community readiness to bounce back, awareness creation and supporting the preparation of household and community level contingency plans
- Improving natural resource conservation and rehabilitation practices through awareness raising and promoting physical and biological natural resource conservation practices
Target Beneficiaries: the project works with 1080 poor women, 540 farmers and 180 landless youth.
